Nara Institute of Science and Technology (NAIST) Japan is offering an exclusive opportunity for the 2026 Online Pre-screening Internship. The internship will be conducted virtually on April 6-24, 2026, includes interviews with NAIST professors and allows you to present your research to determine suitability for NAIST Master and Doctoral programs.
Qualifications of applicant:
- Students/Alumni of UGM
- Born on or after April 2, 1992
- Completed a 16-year school curriculum
- For doctoral course applicant: Have a Master’s degree or those who will receive a Master’s degree by October 2026 may apply using the latest result
- For master/master leading to PhD course applicant: Have a Bachelor’s degree or those who will receive a Bachelor’s degree by October 2026 (March 2027 enrollment) or March 2027 (October 2027 enrollment)
- Have CGPA score of at least 3.4 out of 4.0 in the most recent course school record
- Highly proficient in English, especially in a scientific environment
- Have taken basic molecular biology courses
- Motivated to pursue studies at the Division of Biological Science at NAIST and to complete the degrees

- Abstract/summary of research record/current research (two A4 pages max)
- Transcripts of Bachelor and/or Master degree (in English)
- Copy of TOEIC, TOEFL, IELTS score certificate or any equivalent English proficiency test
- Select four laboratories from the list of Laboratories Accepting Students in 2027 (full list: bit.ly/lab2027)

- Online Interview: March 14, 2026 (Sat)
- First result announcement: March 15, 2026 (Sun)
