Yogyakarta—-NAIST Alumni in Indonesia (INAA) held an alumni reunion on Saturday-Sunday, 6-7th August 2022 in Yogyakarta. The organizing committee for this INAA Gathering or Reunion was NAIST alumni from the UGM Lecture, Yogyakarta. The INAA Gathering committee includes Dr. Berry Juliandi, Dr. Rooby Noor Cahyono, Dr. Ari Dwi N., Dr. Dewi Dwiningtyas, Fendi san, and all UGM alumni.
This activity was held for two days with a hybrid event (online and offline). The Venue for the offline event took place at the Grand Keisha Hotel, Yogyakarta Indonesia. The INAA Gathering event was opened by NAIST President (Dr. Kazuhiro Shiozaki), Chairperson of the NAIST alumni association (Prof. Kiyoshi Kiyokawa), INAA President (Dr. Berry Juliandi, MSi), and Chairperson of INAA alumni (Prof Edy Meiyanto).
This year’s reunion was attended by Prof. Masashi Kawaichi and Prof. Yasumasa Bessho) as Head of Division for Global Education and Director of NAIST Indonesia office. The alumni meeting was also attended by Mrs. Sachiko Iida as INAA Board of Commissioners (Iida Foundation).
From the alumni side, Dr. Yekti Asih Purwestri, M.Sc. as INAA Vice President I gave material on INAA activity reports, and this event was attended by all Sensei and alumni who attended Hybrid. All alumni and Sensei looked happy in this event, especially for the first time during the Covid-19 Pandemic (since 2020), the alumni gathering could take place in a hybrid and alumni could meet each other face to face in Yogyakarta. This event was attended by more than 81 alumni and their families both offline and online.
This event went smoothly and there was also an excursion to Tebing Breksi, Yogyakarta, and the next day to Kopi Lembah, UGM. This event went very well and is expected to strengthen the collaboration and cooperation between NAIST alumni at various universities and research institutions in Indonesia and Japan particularly strengthening alumni relations with NAIST (mhf).
